The San Diego Derby Dolls Season Opener was an incredible display of athleticism with a nailing biting last jam. The Los Angeles Derby Dolls Varsity Brawlers came down to meet the San Diego Swarm on the banked track at Del Mar Fairgrounds Saturday night for an incredible game showcasing the agility of these women athletes.

The last jam began with a 119-124 Varsity Brawler lead. Seasoned Swarm player, Kiki Diazz, took the star for San Diego. She cleared the pack first and came back on a scoring pass while the VB jammer was lapped still in the pack. San Diego fans rose to their feet in anticipation of the possible 5 or more point jam for overtime or even a win. Fortune prevailed for the Varsity Brawlers and when the 60 seconds had elapsed, the Swarm had only managed to put 3 points on the board.

San Diego Swarm’s new 2012 roster includes many long time skaters for the black and yellow, like Kiki Diazz, OB Noxious and Slamurai, as well as newly added athletes, NoWaybyMe, MadCap, and Rawkhell S. Bells to name a few.
